I know that you as a consumer reading this have no say, but nobody should ever choose this as their 2FA method, and I hope the low rating will deter decision-makers at companies.

I was able to authenticate with my financial institution using this version of VIP Access on my apple Vision Pro, visionOS 2.2. I knock off one star because there is no alternative to dark text on the white background, but at least the font is quite large.

So, I got a new phone and wiped everything out on my old phone. Apparently I cannot migrate to this new device because I don’t have the old phone to get the QR code to scan for the migration. This poorly designed app is giving me that problem, without providing an alternative recourse.

This app does TOTP, similar to Google Authenticator, but works in a weird way that makes it incompatible with other TOTP apps. I wish I could use a generic TOTP app so that I can use the same app for everything. Instead, Schwab forces this dumb app onto its customers.

Thought I need to swipe right to see second page of additional sites registered which accidentally deleted a code. So no undelete, no option to confirm delete and no history so not even sure what I lost.

The swipe left gesture moves from the VIP credential to the other OTP list. Another swipe left deletes credentials from that OTP list without confirmation. If you fumble your phone like I just did, you will lose an account (you may not even see which one!) and have to go through a recovery process to reenroll. I have about a dozen accounts enrolled. I’m considering moving them all to another Authenticator.

This is truly the worst authenticator I have ever encountered. If I don’t catch the push notification that someone is trying to sign in and just open the app instead, it simply does not give me to option to verify that it’s me. I have to close the app, turn off do not disturb, send it again, open it from the push notification, and hope the app doesn’t freeze. I’m in awe that the company I work for uses this.

If you get a new phone, apparently this app, and ONLY this app, no other app, needs special treatment. You have to scan your old phone with your new one to move and delete your data. If you don’t know about this before resetting or returning your old phone? Good luck. You can never use VIPAccess correctly again! Even with moving iCloud data, this app (and this app alone) will not recognize you no matter what you do. I’m now locked out of social media accounts AND MY OWN JOB. Forever. That’s awesome, thanks so much.

I like this app and I have been using it for many years. However, as other similar apps have already done, it really needs touch/face ID in order to prevent unauthorized persons from getting the code if the phone is compromised.

Several times I have accidentally swiped the wrong direction and have deleted my authenticator for a website. The app doesn’t ask to confirm the deletion, which causes major headaches with getting user accounts re authenticated with websites.

Never works. Zero stars. Waste of my time. And no support to assist.

This app does not support Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode. If a thief grabs your unlocked phone from your hand and runs off, he can access your financial accounts and steal your money. It would be a simple change to require Face ID to open the app. Please, Broadcom, fix this.

This app is supposed to be used for several of my financial institutions. The problem is that the key and seed for the app are generated per DEVICE instead of per service. This is absolutely mind boggling and insecure. What is the purpose of having a security key duplicated across different services? Any institution using this as 2FA should be embarrassed and switch to standard TOTP

Is this a cruel joke? How is it this app has No secure login. > No Face ID. > No password Nothing. It’s actually MORE SECURE to not to use this if the app that requires it has Face ID built-in. What an absolute joke!

My other authenticator apps all have Face ID enabled. It's a huge added security feature. Therefore, I believe Symantec needs to add this as well!

Needs ability to manually enter the Credential ID.

Many apps for which we need the code generated by VIP app are also on the same phone. Hence if your phone gets compromised, then they can also access VIP app and enter the code in the very apps that you are trying to protect by using the second layer. This app should be PIN protected and this option should be provided to enhance the security.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. Fix your shot and get your shot together

It is mind blowing to me that an app that is often used for financial institutions didn’t even bother to use Face ID or a passcode to access the app. If someone steals your phone, they can easily get the code. Absolutely unforgivable. Whoever is in charge of this lack of security needs to be fired.

No reason to not let us tap on the X or Checkmark, instead forcing us to swipe for no good reason whatsoever.

Not compatible with iOS 17. Making it useless until they upgrade the app.

How much is it and how do you cancel?!

For those sites I’ve already established authentication with, this app works as it should. However, recent attempts to add new sites (eg, Yahoo, Coinbase) failed. When scanning the provided QR code, the app crashes instantly. I deleted, then reinstalled the app but had the same problem. This has been going on for well over a month, meaning the developers have had time to address and resolve it prior to the last update one month ago.

Why does the counter move in a counter-clockwise rotation?

This app is garbage, the codes don’t even work when you out them in I put in the right code 3 times in a row and it still didn’t work then after the fourth time it locks me out of my BANK ACCOUNT when I about to pay off my credit card. Now I have to wait to call my bank to fix all of this. Thanks a lot VIP access! You deserve the worst app on the App Store award for sure.

My financial institution uses this security app and I unfortunately used it to secure my bank accounts. After I upgraded my cell phone, the app would not recognize the new phone and resulted in a 30 day lockout of all my accounts. The financial institution says they have no way to override or fix the lockout and that I just have to wait 30 days. The 30 days is up and the app still prevents me from accessing my accounts and there is not a single technical person at my financial institution that knows how to fix the problem. If I want to access my accounts (and I mean even just log-in to check my balance or see what's been charged to my credit card), I can't. My recommendation is don't use this app!

I hate this app. Tied completely to your phone. Lose your phone, bye bye to logging into work. And why they don’t at least support NFC hardware like Yubikey is beyond me. Of course, the culprits are the companies that require the use of this app. Smart companies would use methods that are widely adopted, like a 2FA app or a hardware key. But no, let’s lock people into something proprietary that’s a huge pain in the neck to use. And it’s yet another app I must install because of work. Yuck. As you can tell, I’m not a fan 🤓

A great way to make this a better would be to add the option to make facial recognition requirement when opening. This is a simple security fix that I think is lacking.

Unfortunately, with this new app update, VIP Access is no longer on my Apple Watch. unfortunately, this has made signing in and using the VIP Access codes. Extremely cumbersome as now I have to carry a phone. I’m stopping in the middle of patient visits pulling out my phone. Scrolling through, looks very unprofessional. I’m explaining to every patient what I’m doing and why the process is now much longer. Sure wish it would go back on my Apple Watch for quick and easy access.

I have this for work. I use to be Able to check my schedule and everything, but once I got a new phone it quit working and tells me I’m not in the right region/ state so now I can’t use it unless I’m at work on my work phone. I deleted and reinstalled the app also. So frustrating!

I use this app all the time for prescribing medications and up until today it was available on my iPhone as well as my Apple Watch. It’s very useful to have it on my watch as I need the code to enter into my emr on my phone. Any idea why it’s no longer on my Apple Watch and doesn’t show as an app that can be installed on it?!

This used to also show on an Apple Watch and they removed that!

I use my Apple Watch to get the security code every day as I log into multiple systems at work, but with the update on 18 April 2023 the app disappeared from my watch and I can’t figure out how to get it back. Works fine on my iPhone. Overall, I love the convenience of getting the codes, but really hope this functionality on Apple Watch is restored.

This went away with the latest update. Please fix! The inability to use on watch significantly impedes the functionality.

This app has NO security for the app. No password protection, no FaceID. Anyone takes your iPhone can login to your accounts. Ridiculous!

From my observations, at least for some vendors, the generated key is appended to the password, and the receiving system is expecting it when two-factor authentication is enabled. This fails when the resulting password string exceeds the maximum number of characters allowed in the password field. So, for example, with E-Trade, you need to limit your password to 26 characters if you want to use two-factor authentication although you can actually use passwords up to 32 characters long. Why? Because you will need room for the additional 6 digits generated by the app. Given the number of negative reviews here, it is strange why this has not been discussed with the vendors and explained to the customers as a potential problem; hence, reduced rating for the app itself.

If I could give -10 stars, I would do so gladly. The app is buggy, non-responsive, and provides incorrect codes. As a result, I missed out on an important and time sensitive purchase that I will not have the opportunity to buy again. If your financial institution uses this as its authenticator, find a new bank that doesn’t :)

Was annoyed we had to start using this for work, but push notifications made it easy. Within the last updates they removed push notifications. Are the members working on this app not talented enough to have a simple push notification that has been in existence for year and is in every single app. I know this may sound harsh but either they need a leadership change or need better developers because this is just sad.

Had to use this app for etrade. Seems to be mostly working for etrade but the app keeps losing my secondary authentication for MorganStanley such that I have to use my backup authentication code. I suspect it has something to do with opening the vip app on watch maybe but I’m not sure. Either way pretty terrible quality app

I have spent an hour of my life, that I will never get back, trying to log into my account MULTIPLE times using this app. VPN on or off makes no difference. I’m a reasonably intelligent person -having piloted airplanes, surveyed land, and built engines. This app refused to allow me to log onto my financial account using the access code as stated. I don’t believe it interfaces when the code is sent using my iphone11. Thankfully, lives don't depend on this app, or there would be bodies strewn everywhere. Go back to the drawing board. I’m deleting this catastrophe.

Nobody should use this app if you can avoid it. Just about any TOTP app is better. You should only use VIP if your bank or something forces you to. But… it is completely inexcusable to not have Face ID. For a company like Symantec that pretends to be security-oriented, this is crazy. If your unlocked device is swiped from your hand, someone can easily get into your OTP codes through VIP.

Don’t get push notifications 95% of the time when trying to verify. Also don’t get the option to enter code manually. I wish our large company went with another vendor.

I use this app to confirm prescriptions that have been eprescribed. It works well for that. I use the watch app and it makes the otherwise clunky process work smoother. I REALLY REALLY wish that they would make a complication for the Apple Watch which would make launching the app that much faster for me and other physicians that need to launch it several times an hour. Add the complication and this becomes a 5-star review.

I have had nothing but problems with this app. I hate 2 - step verification. It tells me it’s sending a push alert but I don’t know where cause I can’t find it.
